On 16 October 2018, DTOceanPlus was presented at the Ocean Energy Conference dedicated to the impact of EU R&D that held in Brussels, Belgium.
DTOcean and DTOceanPlus projects aim to provide advanced design tools for ocean energy systems innovation, development and deployment. The first wave and tidal energy arrays are coming online in the 2010s with many new technological challenges to be overcome. Innovators and the supply chain need to undertake R&D to address these challenges and reduce cost/risk in a pre-commercial industry. These two aspects illustrate the need for Ocean Energy R&D funding.
